"The New Rudolph" was painted in December, 2011 and is my first in a series of "Pop Art".
This scene is a fairly realistic, cold, winter snow scene with Christmas trees on the hill tops covered with snow. The sky is dark and typical wintery with slopes of snow. A few disturbances in the snow represent foot prints.
The reindeer is where the reality ends ! Rudolph is standing all alone, wondering why Santa hasn't summoned him to lead the flock and pull the gift-ladened sleigh ? Rudolph's mother told him that he was no different than any other reindeer, except for the glowing red nose and Santa really liked that !
He thought to himself, "Just look at me now - the new Rudolph - don't I look fantastic ?".
