This Oil Painting:
This original Florida art stretched canvas oil was painted in 2007, and was signed by the artist, R.Geddings. Some extra knife work is included in this painting !

As the title conveys, depicted on this canvas - on center stage one might say - is one small island - all alone - set in a typical estuary one can find on the west coast of Florida. These islets usually are quite small comprised of sand, a few shells and some type of green shrubbery or small trees. As the sun now sets behind these small trees, it creates the beautiful backdrop of a sky whose magnificent colors one expects to witness in Florida at sunset.

In the foreground are the remains of what used to be a small wooden boat dock - obviously used in years gone by to launch a small boat to visit that lonesome cay. On silent wings, the black-headed gull circles overhead, seeking his last meal of the day.

The artist has captured the true beauty of a couple of Coconut Palms on stage right whilst in the background on stage left are several Cabbage Palms - another Florida specialty !

The colors you see on your computer screen do not do justice to those in the actual painting which are simply gorgeous ! This signed and certified oil painting was not only a valuable addition to the buyer's collection of Florida art, but a good investment as well !
