Everglades Frontier

" Everglades Frontier "

This Oil Painting:
On a cool winter morning in February, 2007, the artist, R.Geddings, had a mental picture of a typical Florida scene of The Everglades as they appear in wintertime. Having now set brush to canvas, he has produced another scene typical of the everchanging Florida Everglades - somewhat non-traditional when one thinks of Florida and it's steamy hot summers.

The pale blue of the sky with its hidden sun behind the white clouds promotes a chilly sensation as one takes in this scene of beauty. The hovering seagull in the foreground is wondering if he too will be lucky enough to catch a fish similar to those being consumed by the two Great White Herons feeding on the shoreline.

Completing this winter scene are the tall Cabbage Palm Trees found on the frontier of Florida's Everglades.

The colors you see on your computer screen do not do justice to those in the actual painting which are more realistic !
