" EVERGLADES SAWGRASS PLAIN "

The Painting:
The artist, R.Geddings, painted and signed this oil in 2007.

The artist has captured a beautiful Florida day with authenic Everglades foliage, birds in flight, and a hungry gull flying overhead looking for a meal in the shallows.

As you can see, the artist has also captured the beautiful colors of the Florida sky along with reflections and shadows in the water.

This scene certainly gives the viewer a feeling relaxing tranquility and has made a valuable addition to the buyer's Florida-Art collection !

Note of Interest:
The Everglades provide a sanctuary, as well as a breeding and feeding ground, for many species of wading birds that depend on the climate's wet and dry cycle in order to reproduce. The great egret, snowy egret and roseate spoonbill live relatively undisturbed in the Everglades with other rare and unique birds..

The anhinga, sometimes called the snakebird because it swims through the water with only its thin neck showing, also lives here. Another resident, the endangered wood stork, is the only stork native to North America. The threatened bald eagle and the few hundred remaining endangered snail kites are also at home in the Everglades.
