The Art Cove is located in beautiful Carrollwood Village in the Tampa Bay area of the "Sunshine State" - Florida, U.S.A.
Purpose:
The purpose of The Art Cove is to exclusively represent Florida landscape artist Riley Geddings by providing an online gallery for his paintings. In addition, the online galleries provide an outlet for his sales as well as a viewing area for his customers, art collectors, and artist associates.
Riley has a passion to keep the "Original Florida Art" alive in tribute to some of the early 1950s Florida folk artists such as the now famous "Florida Highwaymen" !
Activity:
Riley keeps quite busy with painting, marketing, packing and shipping his artwork to his many faithful customers and collectors. He is also very fortunate to have had a career in computer software programming and analysis, hence enables him to maintain this website, www.theartcove.com.

It would be literally impossible for Riley to maintain his art ventures without the help of his faithful and wonderful English wife, Maggie, who supports and encourages him in all of his artistic endeavors. She serves as an art critic, document writer, shipping assistant and is the office manager. She excels in Word Perfect word processing and is a poet and writer in her own right ! She has written and published her own cook book as well !

The Florida Everglades Foundation:
The Everglades Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, charitable organization dedicated to advancing an understanding of the Greater Everglades Ecosystem and its irreplaceable environmental and economic value.
The Art Cove is divided into four physical areas:
1. Art studio:
A quiet place where Riley actually prepares his canvas and other support which will ultimately receive his oil and acrylic paint !
In this smoke-free studio you will find him in his favorite corner either painting scenes from scratch or finishing up an actual scene from the field with images taken from his trusty digital camera. He paints on stretched canvas, canvas on board, and pressed board using either oil or acrylic. Riley uses only top-quality oil and acrylic paints. Acrylics receive 2 or more applications of professional-grade Polymer Varnish to protect and to bring out the sheen of the paint.
2. Photography:
This is where digital images of artwork are created and edited as well as where video movies are titled and edited for publishing on the web.
3. Computer room:
This area is used to create and develop all software to be used for online site webpages and associated marketing endeavors. This software along with images and videos are uploaded to the internet. The Art Cove has a network of computers online so that Riley can program and keep up with marketing sales and at the same time Maggie can create certificates of authentification, legal documents, and descriptions for all paintings webpages. The computers are also used to print all shipping labels and Art Cove shipping-box labels.
4. Shipping and Storage:
This department is where canvas, frames, art-shipping boxes and shipping supplies are housed. Sold paintings are packed and shipped from here. All paintings are safely and expertly packed in sturdy shipping-boxes, then shipped via Fedex and are fully insured !
5. Art Cove Treasure Trove Gift Shop:
This department is where gift-purchases are packed and shipped. The gifts are Florida-themed, ranging from shell-jewelry with gold chains to genuine Florida hand-crafted stained-glass suncatchers as well as other fine stained-glass gift items !
Riley considers himself very fortunate indeed to have the tools to proceed with his art endeavors and to have the help from his helpmate, Maggie who inspires him and reminds him that we live here in this wonderful State of Florida, where natural beauty abounds and provides endless scenery to paint !
This artist is also very fortunate to have a faithful following of customers and art collectors who support and encourage the "Original Florida Art" concept !
